Fall & winter in the Hamptons
After Labor Day, the Hamptons slow down. The beaches empty, the farm stands fill with pumpkins and the cove turns gold at sunset. It is our favorite time at the house, and the easiest time to find open dates.

Fall
Fall on the East End means farm days. Pick pumpkins and apples at Hank's Pumpkintown (5 miles), Seven Ponds Orchard (4.5 miles) or the Milk Pail (7.8 miles). Then spend an afternoon at Wölffer Estate, Channing Daughters or Duck Walk Vineyard.
Back at the house, light the fire pit, wrap up in the Adirondack chairs and watch the sun set over Fish Cove.
Winter
Winter is for long walks on Towd Point Beach with nobody else on it, dinners in Sag Harbor without a reservation wait, and evenings at the fire pit. The Parrish Art Museum and the Southampton History Museum are both about five miles away.
The house has room to spread out: two living rooms, a dining table for twelve and a ping-pong table in the Florida room. It is a good fit for a holiday gathering or a reunion.

Getting here
The Hampton Jitney stops 4.5 miles from the house, at 395 County Road 39A, with buses to and from Manhattan. If you drive, there is EV charging at the house. Southampton Village is ten minutes away, with Stop & Shop and Citarella for groceries.
